. About Me .

Just The Surface

I am a military child who was born at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. I have had the privilege of living in Pennsylvania, Japan, Hawaii, and Eastern North Carolina. I have obtained my B.S. in Communication with a Broadcast concentration. I also have a minor in Mathematics from Western Carolina University. Through my internship, I have gained experience as a camera operator, replay operator, audio assistant and ways to handle a plethora of other tasks that comes with producing live broadcasts. This internship at WCU was powered and produced through the ESPN sports media networks and channels.

Future Aspiration

Being community-oriented, I aspire to make my presence well-known in the financial world. I will start my journey with Aflac in Jackson County selling Supplemental insurance to companies. After successfully training, I will obtain my life insurance certification with the intent to understand how to properly structure the underwriting of life policies, health policies and trusts. My degree will come into play in shaping my plans after my first retirement. I aim to live a long and healthy life, allowing me to bring personal experiences into a middle school math classroom and the sports that I coach. I also aspire to produce a successful podcast series while freelancing as a videographer.

Returned Investment

Upon completing my Associate’s degree at Louisburg College within an accelerated timeframe of 1.5 years, I transitioned to WCU with the objective of enriching my academic breadth and acquiring practical insights in my field of study. This strategic move not only reaffirmed my self-determination but also demonstrated my capacity to pursue ambitious goals. Concurrently, I assumed a leadership role by reactivating an organization and assuming the presidency of the Pi Mu chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. Within three months of joining this organization, I became the President of the WCU’s chapter of NPHC (National Pan-Hellenic Council).

Free-Time?

I am also employed at the local Cookout Restaurant in Sylva N.C. When I’m not at home with my 2-month old daughter or at work, you can likely find me at the WCU Community Garden, where I am a proud lot owner of Plot 23 and a consistent volunteer. Additionally, I volunteer twice a week at Jackson County’s Habitat for Humanity.
